Kuala Lumpur, June 29, 2022, – On June 23, Mr. Lee (pseudonym) came to Big Sweep's office and carefully took out the ticket from the red envelope that he had been keeping since the draw 12th of June. He handed it over to Big Sweep staff to claim the second prize of RM600,000 for Draw 8/22 with ticket numbering 2589580.
Mr. Lee, who is in his 40s, hails from Selangor and owns a small home appliances business. One day, while waiting for his meal in a kopitiam, someone asked, "Do you want to try your luck, sir? I have 30 tickets left”. He confessed that he usually does not buy more than 3 tickets. However, he made an exception and bought all 30 tickets from the seller that day. After the draw, Mr. Lee used the mobile apps to check his luck. He was elated when he found out he has won the second prize.
Mr. Lee shared his journey of buying lottery tickets. He buys them occasionally when he meets a ticket seller or whenever he feels like it. He added that it is to test his luck as well as to make a small contribution to charity. Mr. Lee also shared that he finds the Big Sweep App convenient as he was able to get instant results after scanning the tickets.
Talking about how he can put the prize money to good use, Mr. Lee said, "My business has not been doing well in recent years because of the pandemic. This prize money can help solve my financial difficulties”. Before leaving the office, Mr. Lee brought extra lottery tickets to give to his family and friends in the hope to pass on his good fortune.
As of 2021, Pan Malaysian Sweep Sdn Bhd has donated 26 million Ringgit to the YCF, a charitable organization dedicated to nurturing talent through education.
