Ms. Cheah: Part of the winnings will go to charity to help the underprivileged
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 – A 37-year-old factory worker from Taiping, Perak, struck it lucky when a spontaneous decision to buy 10 Big Sweep tickets at a morning market led to a RM50,000 win!
Ms. Cheah, who works on a production line, said she rarely buys Big Sweep tickets. Speaking with a smile, she noticed that the ticket seller had last 10 consecutive-number tickets left — and decided to buy them all. She immediately scratched the ticket and initially noticed several zeros. Upon a closer look, she realized the amount displayed was RM50,000. What began as a small impulse turned into an unexpected windfall.
When asked about her plans for the prize money, Ms. Cheah shared that she intends to donate part of it to charitable causes in support of underprivileged communities, as a way of giving back to society. The remaining amount will be used for investment and a family vacation abroad.
“I believe this good fortune isn’t mine alone. I hope to share this blessing with others,” she added.
Passionate about the Zodiac Collectibles Campaign – Aiming to Complete All 12
Interestingly, Ms. Cheah is also a collector of Big Sweep’s Zodiac tickets. She revealed that she has already collected 8 different zodiac tickets and hopes to complete all 12 to qualify for the additional RM8,888 bonus reward.
“I’ll keep collecting and hope my luck continues until the full set of twelve!”
Till date, Big Sweep has donated more than RM26 million from its proceeds to the Education Fund, supporting educational and talent development projects — staying true to its motto, “Play for Charity.”
